Hello. I’m Richard Warren and I’ve been collecting Burma and Myanmar stamps, covers and other stuff for the last twenty plus years. My favourite periods are the Japanese Occupation, the British military administration of 1945 and everything post Independence from 1948 to now. But I’m not fussy. I don’t spend vast amounts, but I like to study what I acquire. For the last thirteen years I’ve edited The Burma Fantail, the quarterly journal of the Burma (Myanmar) Philatelic Study Circle (international but UK based), the successor to Alan Meech’s The Burma Peacock, which ran from 1979 to 2000. I’m not a dealer, though I put the odd item on eBay, and I do some occasional informal expertising of peacock overprints for a well known dealership (in return for a donation to the study circle).
For now, this blog will be just for bits and pieces, notes or queries, me thinking aloud. I hope you find something interesting or useful here.

Hi Richard! I’ve just begun collecting the Peacock overprints and have won many on eBay. I found you because I was looking for tips on detecting forgeries. one stamp in particular: the 4A green-blue SGJ32b with overprint in blue-black inverted. I’m now the proud owner of one of these stamps (with cv of L3750) and I wonder if this is fake. Do you know if this is likely a fake? I look forward to your future articles – Dave

Dear Richard Warren, this is an interesting blog, quite specific. I am interested myself in cinderella stamps and have one of these Wa State stamps, and I was curious, did you ever receive more information on this topic? I bought mine on ebay, it was part of the Jim Czyl collection. Curious to hear more. Kind regards, Floor Koomen
